The January 2nd SFEC Food Drive was a great success and surpassed all expectations. In all, our SFEC Volunteers delivered 4 Truck-loads of food and $4,700 in Monetary Donations to the Church of the Resurrection Food Pantry in Marmora. Jacquie Jolansen of the Food Pantry extends her thanks:
“Thank you so very much for your group sponsoring this food drive. The food and monetary donations will go a long way to helping feed the needy.
Again, thank you so much. It’s been my pleasure working with you.”
-Jacquie
We want to thank the Deauville Inn for their generous support as they donated an entire truck-load of food. We also want to recognize the Strathmere Improvement Association (SIA) as they helped promote this event and also gave a nice donation to the cause. We want to extend our thanks to everyone who stopped by the Strathmere Fire House to drop-off food items or provided a monetary donation. In addition, our members donated an additional $1,800 through on-line donations via our website. The SFEC also made a donation of $500 to the Food Pantry.
As SFEC Board-member Rose Rhine commented: “Absolutely amazing in the dead of winter!!”
That really sums-up this successful SFEC event and we thank everyone who helped us get off to a great start in 2021! We are very proud of this SFEC accomplishment that will have a positive impact on our shore community. If the January 2nd Food Drive is any indication, the SFEC is heading in the right direction for a fun and successful 2021.
