The 2011 Surf Fishing Tournament was held Friday and Saturday, May 20-21.
All proceeds from the tournament were divided between two organizations dedicated to Autism care and research: Autism – Living and Working Together (The Diamond Family) and the Polar Bear Run and Walk for Autism (Mike Monichetti).
Ella Diamond said that Autism-Living and Working Together has created six group homes, and that last year’s SFEC donation bought furniture for the homes. Ella said, “We’re grateful for everything you do for us.”
Tournament Chair Randy Roash presented awards as follows:
Ed Dimarcantonio was the Catch-and-Release Winner with a 30 lb. Black Drum

Wyatt Jordan was the Kids’ Division Winner with an 8.5 lb. striper
The overall winners were as follows:
First place – Dave Kupec – Striper – 37.5 lbs.

Randy thanked Mike Monichetti for all the seafood that was donated for the dinner.
The total contributions (including $100+ from Marty Otter, winner of the 50/50) exceeded $2200. All should take pride in the generosity of our members!
Randy also thanked Herb Hollinger and his daughter, Leslie, for creating the awards for the Surf Tournament.
