Re-cap of the June 11th Meeting: Following the Flag salute, Treasurer’s Report, and the reading of the minutes, Randy Roash briefed the members on the status of the artificial reef program and the Club’s request to have the castoff material from the Rt. 52 project used to expand the offshore reefs. Randy emphasized that while the Club supported expanding the reefs while we remain strongly opposed to the use of commercial pots on the reefs.
2011 “T” Shirts: Bud Lyon reported that the 2011 “T” shirts would be available by the end of the month and are on sale at all Club functions and at:

Jane Shetler Woman’s Fishing Tournament: Debbe Starr announced that the tournament will be held on July 9th; sign up at Frank’s or Whale Creek. Cost is $5.00 per person. In memory of Jane, all proceeds from the tournament and the Summer Social will be donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Please be as generous as possible.
Summer Social: Also held on July 9th, 6:00 PM at the Firehouse. The cost is $25 and includes dinner and adult refreshments. Note that this is a catered event and seats are limited. First come first serve, call Debbe Starr at 609-390-4718 for tickets.
New Members: The Club welcomed the following new members:

Environmental Committee: The Committee requested volunteers to provide boat transport for the terrapin research folks at the Wetland Institute. Small boats, about 17 feet or less, are needed for about one hour in the morning and again in the evening. It is an enjoyable experience, you get to work with young research interns and learn a little about the Diamondback Terrapin. Contact Dick Omrod at 263-2506 or e-mail omrod105@comcast.net. The Committee also reported that of the 9 of the 10 existing Osprey platforms have birds on them and they plan to install two more this summer.

Steve was presented with an original painting (by Carol Ferguson) of the summer flounder.
The Club won Honorable mention in the July 4th parade.
