There was no business conducted in February, other than our highly successful Winter Social on Feb. 25th. About 40 members gathered at the Lobster Loft, in addition to great food, refreshments and music, the highlight of the evening was announcing the winners of the 2011 Striper Tournament.
Overall winner was David Kupec with a 47” Striper

Summer Flounder Season:
The season starts on Saturday 5 May, ends on Friday, Sept 28. The minimum length is 17 1/2 inches; the daily bag limit is five. Members are urged to participate in the NJ Angler Survey. This is a program where you report your catch, throwbacks and keepers that will assist the bureaucracy in establishing the length of the season, size and bag limits. You can only participate on line at NJDEP Division of Fish & Wildlife – Recreational Saltwater Angler Survey
Membership:
This will be the last reminder for those who have not yet sent in their 2012 dues. They are DUE! If you have not paid please send $25, along with the Member Information Form here, to the address above by April 1. After that the fee is $35. This has to be the best deal in all of Cape May County, if not all of South Jersey.
State of the Fisheries:
Mark the date, March 17th. This is our annual meeting when we invite the political heavies to address the Club and discuss the latest issues affecting our favorite sport. This is one meeting you don’t want to miss. We have commitments to attend from NJ State Senator Van Drew and Assemblymen Milam and Albano. In addition several of the lobby groups, i.e. RFA & SSFFF will be represented. This is an annual highlight for the Club and as always gourmet chow will follow the meeting.
NJ Salt Water Fishing Registration:
Don’t forget, you need to register with the State if you fish in salt water. Here is the web-site: http://www.nj.gov/dep/saltwaterregistry.
