The 24-Hour Surf Tournament was held on Friday and Saturday, June 11-12. The fishing wasn’t great, but fun was had by all.
Saturday evening, the club held an awards dinner and a special benefit on behalf of Matthew Bonsall, son of our good friend and longtime club member (and great fisherman) Jerry Bonsall. Here the crowd gathers outside and inside the firehouse for the festivities.
Here folks gather to peruse and purchase jewelry from Graceful Expressions. Grace generously donated part of her sales to the Matthew Bonsall Fund.
Kurt and Robin Henry sell lots of our popular 2010 “All Tournament” tee shirts.
Randy chairs this event, so he is the emcee, and first place in the kids’ division goes to…
Matt Bonsall!
Second place goes to Tommy Geib, Jr.
Third place went to David Schmidt, who could not attend.
In the Men’s Division, first place went to Bud Lyon for a 10-pound striper.
And the Overall Winner, with a 12-pound striper, was Tom Starr.
In a belated award, Rich Vandegrift received his Second Place (Beach) Award for his catch in the 2009 Striper Tournament

Here is the Bonsall family: Jerry, Janice, Carol, Brian and Matt…
Matt helps Randy select the 50-50 winner:
And then Brian gives a very moving tribute to his late brother…
Followed by the equally moving “last call”.

Many thanks to all club members and guests who gave so generously to the
Matthew Bonsall Benefit Fund.
It is deeply appreciated by the Bonsall Family.
