This year’s Annual Striper Tournament began, as always, on March 1, and ended New Year’s Eve.
It’s an honor system tournament, for members only. Catches are recorded on the Striper Board at the Whale Creek Marina, or may be submitted to sfec@comcast.net (please include a picture, if possible). Only length (not weight) need be recorded so that fishermen can release the fish if they choose.
The winners are presented with plaques at the Winter Social.
This year, there was a new twist: the first keeper-size bass caught by a Club member received a $50 gift certificate.
And the early tournament leader was Randy Roash, whose catch on April 14 of a 28″ striper (barely making the legal limit), claimed the certificate!
