President Randy Roash opened the last club meeting on April 18, 2009 at the firehouse with the flag salute. Treasurer Dick Shetler gave the club financial report and Secretary Rosemarie Whelan read the minutes from the previous meeting in March.
Randy brought a motion to the floor for the final vote for the club’s change to 501C3 tax status. The vote was unanimous in favor. The process will move forward and Dick Omrod will keep us up to date on the details.
Invited guests Bill Figley of Fish & Wildlife and Ron Nachmann, President of South Jersey Saltwater Anglers gave an informative presentation on the New Jersey Reefs and the problems involving fish traps. They asked members of the club to help by signing a petition and sending postcards to Governor Corzine in support of removing the traps from the Reefs.
Randy thanked Rob Coffey for doing the cooking for this meeting. A good cook is always appreciated.
