Our “Last Cast” Striper Tournament was held November 27 – 28 and was chaired by Rob Coffey. The weather was nice, but very cool (cold?) and windy.
The “first catch” weighed in on Friday turned out to be the winning fish. Here is Rich “Dog” Vandergrift with his winner:
–
Winners were announced at the Firehouse where beverages and a variety of dishes were served, including chili from the Red Sky Cafe. Many members and their families joined us.
–
Each winner was presented with a trophy by Chairman Rob Coffey, and was also presented with a beautiful “Strathmere Sunset” framed photograph, donated by Mike McNally.
–
First place: Rich Vandergrift, 28.6 pounds (from the beach):
–
Second place: John Snee, 8.6 pounds (from a boat)
–
Third place: Brian Bonsall. 8.4 pounds
–
Note that Jim Cannon and Ed DiMarcantonio caught bluefish weighing 11.5 and 10.5 pounds, respectively. Next year there will be a separate category added for bluefish.

Nice job, Rob! Thanks to all participants and volunteers!
