THE SFEC 2013 Founder Tournament was held on the traditional Saturday before the Fourth of July (thus ensuring participation by children now out of school).
There were 104 registered entries this year, quite possibly a new record!
The day started with some rain, but was generally very nice onshore, though it was a little too windy for the best fishing. Still, everyone had a good time!
There was lots of fishing in the Strathmere Bay (some even by Tournament entries)…
.
The weigh-ins and the awards were held at the Whale Creek Marina.
.
We only got one weigh-in picture, but here is Missy Miller with her winning 3.0 pound catch.
Pete Prinsen and Derek Boles were the tournament chairmen, and did a great job.
.
Susan Prinsen “manned” the grill!
Susan, Daughter Maxi and friend Kelly set up the table…
And everyone digs in!
SFEC President Rob thanks the chairmen, who in turn thank the sponsors.
.
A nice crowd assembles for the awards presentations (not to mention the food, drinks and raffle prizes)!
The trophies stand ready to be awarded.
.
The Overall Winner, and recipient of both a trophy and a nice cash prize, was Ted Stabolepszy, who caught a 4.0 pound flounder!
