On Saturday, October 10, 2015, Jeff Dement, Fish Tagging Program Director of the American Littoral Society, presented a most interesting program about the Society, which is celebrating 50 years of fish tagging, 1965-2015. The Littoral Society is headquartered in Highlands, NJ. Its programs include Fish Tagging, Restoration, Education, and Advocacy. Over 1,000 taggers and tag clubs tag about 15,000 fish per year. The striped bass is the most-tagged species. The longest return of a striped bass is 11 years, 9 months.
An array of pamphlets and magazines were available, free of charge, to the members, including Underwater Naturalist and Cookin’ for the Coast.
