Recap of the March 17th Meeting: This was our annual meeting with the political heavies that included discussions on issues that affect recreational fishing in South Jersey waters. Following the flag salute, Bud Lyon introduced the legislative panel which included State Senator Jeff Van Drew; Assemblymen Nelson Albano and Matt Milam; and Officers of the Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA) that included Jim Donofrio, Executive Director, and Captain Adam Nowalsky, NJ Chapter Chairman.
The discussion included the following topics: the Fisherman’s Rally in Washington, D.C. on March 21, the Magnuson-Stevens Act, Agenda 21, National Ocean Policy, artificial reef program, fish sizes and limits, and the no-fee saltwater registry. At the conclusion of the meeting, questions from members were answered by the panel. Following the discussion, a delicious dinner, prepared by Eddie Andress, was enjoyed by all. Our web-site has excellent coverage of the meeting here.
