Saturday, August 2, 2014 even with questionable weather we had a really nice group gather to assist in putting up two new Osprey nests. We met at Dick Omrod’s home where the platforms were constructed and transported them to the old Corson’s Marina by boat trailer.
Dick Omrod did a census on Friday evening and he saw 24 osprey chicks and felt there were more he was unable to see. Four of our nests had three each and three nests had none. This is a wonderful project that promotes a healthy population of osprey in our back bay. Thanks, Dick, and all the SFEC members who came out to help!
