On a beautiful Saturday, October 8, as part of the SFEC’s “Environmental Month”, the Club sponsored a dune grass planting that stretched from Sherman Road to Putnam Road. Over 25 volunteers came out to plant some 2500 grass “plugs”. The Fire Company was also on hand to wet down the loose sand and water the newly installed plants. Carol Ferguson, as Chairman of the Environmental Committee, organized the event.
