No formal meeting was held last month.

The Winter Social went on as scheduled on February 20^th at the Deauville Inn where members enjoyed a very nice evening.   The Florida Southern Social was held at the same time at the Finz restaurant in Stuart. This is the second year that this special get together has been held thanks to Mike Mazzeo, who makes all of the arrangements.   John Latwinas tells us that about 20 people attended and it was great seeing Strathmere friends.  President Randy Roash presented Strathmere Fire Chief Bruce Riordan a $1,000.00 check from the SFEC. Randy handed out awards for the club’s striper tournament and awards to former Executive Board members who stepped down at the end of 2009 for their service to the club.  Presented with plaques was Dick Shetler for the outstanding job he did as Treasurer for many years. Dick Omrod  who is in Florida will receive one for the many jobs he did as PR Officer, Corresponding Secretary, Osprey Nests, and the list goes on, and Robin Henry also not present, corresponding secretary.  Special thanks to Debbe Starr for doing a great job running the winter social.  

The club Striper Tournament for 2010 begins on March 1^st and ends on December 31^st.

NEW MEMBER- The SFEC welcomes new member Joe Boland who was voted in at the Winter Social.

SEA TOW-Once again members are being offered a nice discount from Sea Tow.  Please see the letter and application (attached to the original Newsletter).  Deadline for this offer has been extended to March 31^st, so please take advantage of this discount as soon as possible.

SICK & WELFARE- Our sincere sympathy goes out to club members Paul & Lydia Krueger.  Paul lost his mother Ida Krueger recently; please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Get well wishes go out to Martin (Zak) & Marla Jakubczak’s daughter Tracy who has been very ill.  Please keep the whole family in your thoughts and prayers as well.

SPECIAL PROGRAM- Our next meeting and special program is coming up in a couple weeks, so please mark March 13^th on your calendar.  Club Chef Ed Andress is doing the cooking and we will be hosting some important guests which include RFA director Jim Donofrio,  Tony Bogan from the SSFFF, Congressman Frank  LoBiondo, State Senator Jeff VanDrew and Assemblymen Albano and Milam.  We will participate in discussions dealing with the State Licenses and Federal Registry, the revised Magnuson Stevens act, fish limits and seasons.  We hope to see you there.
