STRIPER BOARD - Dick Omrod would like to remind our members that the Club Striper Board is up and operational at Whale Creek Marina.  This is a members-only tournament that runs from March 1, 2010 to December 31st 2010 and is a catch and release event using the honor system.  If you catch a nice striper, measure the length and go down to the marina and put it on the board.  Randy will announce the winners at the Winter Social in February.  Thanks, Dick for taking care of this project.

RAFFLE TICKETS - Carole Jameson will soon be mailing out the club raffle tickets for club members to buy or sell.  For those of you who are new to the club, this is our big event of the season. Part of the money raised from ticket sales is used for the prize money for the Nightmare in Strathmere drawing to be held at the beach bar at the Deauville Inn on August 28th, so it is very important that you get your money and ticket stubs handed back in as quickly as possible. A cover letter included in the mailing will give you all of the information.

4th OF JULY PARADE - Ernie Phillips and Jay Anthony are heading up the club parade committee, so we need to get out there and cheer them on.  As tradition dictates, they will be tossing out the red Swedish fish to the crowd.  This year the 4th falls on a Sunday, so the parade will begin at 11am and at the conclusion, everyone is invited up to the Deauville for free hotdogs and sodas, and the winners are announced. It’s a fun time that you don’t want to miss.  Have a great and safe 4th of July holiday.

JANE SHETLER WOMEN’S TOURNAMENT & SUMMER SOCIAL - This special tournament is coming up on July 10th and is dedicated to Jane Shetler, a dear friend who was a long time club member, and who worked tirelessly as an Executive board member for many years.  Jane is greatly missed but we know that she would have loved this tournament and will be cheering on all of the women who participate.

Following the tournament is the Summer Social Dinner to be held that evening at the firehouse beginning at 6pm.  Tickets are available for $20.00.  Jewelry from Graceful Expressions will be for sale, proceeds from the jewelry and donations from attendees will be going to benefit H.O.P.E. which is an organization that councils people who are going through the grieving process when losing a loved one.  Please see enclosed/attached flyers for all of the details.  For dinner tickets please contact Dick Shetler at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. JACK CLEMENTS REEF TOURNAMENT - We are excited about this new fishing tournament that will take place on July 24th.  Gary Seagraves and Mike Clifford are running this event that honors the memory of Jack Clements who started this club, was the president more than once and for whom our reef is named.  Jack loved to fish and this is just the kind of tournament he would have been involved in.  It is only fitting that the Captain’s Meeting and the weigh will be held at the old Corson’s Inlet Marina.  Please see enclosed/attached flyer for all of the details.

TOURNAMENT T-SHIRTS - We have been very happy with the brisk sales of tournament shirts, we still have some left, and we will be getting long sleeve T-shirts shortly.  The shirts will be for sale at the summer social.  Thanks to all of you that have bought them, and supported your club.
